All very confusing....

However what is "Not" confusing is the terrifying nightmare the children of Sudan are being put through. This is where I get very upset, no child should have to live in fear of their lives, wheter they live in some far away country or if they live right next door. ? Why couldn't our military had been put to good use in Sudan rather than messing up other people's lives in Iraq? Then this leads me to the ? which is more valuable , oil or children? I have always believed that children are our most precious resource. They are our future. We have really screwed things up for them. I have got to get going to the rally for Sudan .

I feel so helpless...why doesn't our collective cry for this to stop do anything?

Amen. Absolutely. Excellent point Skye. Our precious tax dollars are frittered away creating misery! Do you know we have a military presence in 131 of the world's 191 nations? Got this from a Pentagon p.r. rep, believe it or not, a coupla years ago. In addition to spreading Depleted Uranium to maim humanity forever in Eastern Europe, Afghanistan and Iraq, and of course, killing over 100,000 Iraqis in the war, not to mention more than 500,000 children under the age of five in the previous 10 years during our sanctions under Clinton. Well anyway, too bad our tax dollars couldn't be used to help the people of Darfur. Instead, we use them to create our own genocide. Www.nationalpriorities.org is a great site that calculates where every tax dollar goes. They need a Darfur section - I believe we spend about $3 million a day in Iraq. Imagine if we could take a coupla days off and direct that money to Darfur. National Priorities indeed!

I hope your protest was meaningful, effective and educational!

I agree.

It would be a far more worthwhile use of the military.
